Women and Mortgages

I enjoy reading as much of the auto-emails I receive as I can.  Today, from an article written by Esther Cho in the online DSNews:

"Although data shows women generally earn less income than men, results from a recent Experian study
found women come out ahead when comparing how mortgage debt is managed.
According to the study, men were more likely to have a higher mortgage loan amount compared to women,
but men were also more likely to be delinquent by 60 days or more."

The article then goes on to state that women earn approximately 23% less then men.  These figures are for men and women working full time in the US.  Of course, most mortgage debt—a whopping 72%--is joint mortgage debt.  But perhaps this news isn’t an enormously serious issue.

"In April, the delinquency rate (30-plus delinquencies, excluding foreclosures) sunk below 6.5 percent for the
first time since July 2008, according to the data provider."

That quote comes from another article also written by Esther Cho.  So thus we see that there is a wealth of information out there concerning real estate.  And thanks to the internet, it gets launched into the atmosphere, where it….wait, that was in the last post…..
